EWW No! Not ewwwwwwwww! But EWW (or eww). It's the text browser which comes in Emacs, and it's fantastic for quickly reading articles and doing even more than that.
Recently, I started using it every day. Here's a quick summary of how I work:
I am reading something in Safari (usually I get it from RSS). I see a wall of text and I want to send it to Emacs instead for better viewing.
I figured out a way to explain it Earlier today, I figured out how to explain my use of tabs in Emacs to Emacs users who don't use them and wonder why they're useful. It's simple: Think of tabs as different kinds of desktops. They can be full screen desktops, or split into different buffers. That's one way of looking at it. So you end up with a set of Emacs "desktops" which are even saved when you restart Emacs.
Yes! It's a new theme! Yes! I have a new theme. I'm still working on it. The reason was that as cool and awesome as blowfish is, it's a pain to update. It's finicky and has its own system of doing things. This is confusing to me. I'm blonde. Sue me. So I opted for something simpler which is much easier to update. I'm still figuring out how to customize it more, but for now it'll do.
It's a project! But with censoring. A few days ago, I started a thread on the Emacs Devel mailing list after asking some questions on Reddit. It led me to starting the project myself: The Emacs Welcome Newbie Screen.
What I want is for the screen to be linked to the front welcome screen of Emacs with a big: —> New Emacs User? Click here! <— at the top of the screen.
After coming home, I started reviewing Prot's progress with the hut this morning. I saw his video post about a pomegranate tree which had mysteriously sprouted. Also, I saw him working like crazy to build this hut. So, after putting some odd links together in my head, I came up with the following screenplay. 🙃 I wrote this really fast so I hope it comes across as okay.
